Welcome to the final distance learning module in our course, everyone! I hope you all had a lovely long weekend and that you're ready to dive into the last round of work for our class.
**Please keep sending in assignments from previous weeks!! I can't stress this enough!! I can accept all work until the end of May!!**
There are four parts to this module:
1) Social Media Audit
2) Job Interview Questions
3) Job Interview Rubric
4) Skills Log Final Reflection (even if you haven't done a log for each week, still do this!!)
Now that you have made a resume to use in real life, it's time to think about what the next step would be in getting a job. This almost always includes a job interview (some are quite formal and some are very casual - best to be prepared for more formal!). More and more, bosses and post-secondary schools are looking online to see what you've been up to as well. If they don't like what they see it could hurt your chances at getting whatever opportunity you're applying for!
Your social media audit is basically searching for yourself on Google but it is really important to search for your name in a specific way. If we were in class I would have shown you what comes up for me, using a specific search: "Astrid Sidaway-Wolf". If you don't put your name in quotations, Google will search for any combinations of your names. This way, you'll get the most accurate results. It's pretty fun and informative! (Yes, I know my idea of fun isn't always the same as other people's, but just go with it.)
This is your last batch of assignments, so now would be a good time to check that you have handed everything in. If you aren't sure, email to ask or just send it again!!
Here is a list for you to make sure:
- Weekly Skills Log Entries
- Personal Support Network
- Healthy Relationship Soundtrack
- Mentor Interview
- Resume
- Social Media Audit
- Job Interview
- Final Skills Reflection
As always, please let me know if you have questions, concerns, or if I can help at all. Remember, school is important but your health and safety are more important. Everyone at PCSS misses you and we are looking forward to seeing you again when we can.
Continue hanging in there, and I look forward to seeing those assignments!
