This week was full of finances!
You should have completed up to page 6 in our unit booklet (we didn't do it in this order):
p.1: Gross/Net Income (calculated this after the job search was complete)
p.2: Estimated Budget
p.3: Job Search (did this first)
p.4: Wants/Needs
p.5: Predictions (after our estimated budgets were calculated)
p.6: Housing (this is where we wrapped up the week)
We had some interruptions this weeks due to assemblies, fire drills, and the Terry Fox Run, so if you were away in addition to that, you might feel like you're far behind. I've been checking in with students on an individual basis to make sure everyone is up to date, and if you aren't, we can catch you up! Keep coming to class, try to be on time, and make good use of our time together!
Next week we will continue on with the finance unit, and we have a guest presenter visiting us on Tuesday. Keep in mind, our guest presenters have been invited to share their expertise and knowledge as it directly relates to the curriculum of this course. Attending and participating shows that you are meeting these curricular competencies. If you miss presentations, you have to do a lot more work to demonstrate that you have learned what you need to.
The last week of September is upon us! Time is flying! Come ask for help to get caught up if you are getting behind! I'm here to support your learning. :)
