Welcome to Career-Life Education 10! This course is one of the steps towards graduating high school and preparing yourself for the world beyond. While we will be on this journey together, it is a very individual experience. Assignments and projects are designed so that you can explore and develop your own identity, skills, connections, and interests, as well as uncover what you need to do or learn in order to achieve your personal, academic, and professional goals.

- Units: Identity and Career Research; Relationships and Mentors; Finances; Job Seeking and Employability Skills
- Guest Speakers and Field Trips: We will have a number of visitors joining us to share their knowledge and experience with us on a variety of topics. In past years we have attended field trips such as the PARTY Program and the Post Secondary, Trades, and Career Fair at Yukon University.
How to be successful in this mandatory course:
- Be “employable”: This is a class, but school is your job right now. To be successful at any job, you need to be respectful of yourself and others, and demonstrate commitment to your work.
- Be responsible: You are responsible for yourself, your actions, and your work.
- Be engaged: Participate (this means different things in different situations), apply yourself, and stay off your phone!
- Identify risks and benefits of personal and professional decisions and digital footprints.
- Collaborate with community members to explore influences of reciprocal relationships on career life choices.
- Practice effective strategies for healthy school/work/life balance.
- Explore and reflect on career life goals, personal growth, and initial planning for preferred / potential career life pathways.
- Identify and develop essential employability skills.
- Explore opportunities for community, social & cultural engagement and contributions.
- Identify and practice using different models of decision making/goal setting.
